Selene Previous Owners

The previous owner handed over a load of paperwork with the boat, and after some sorting I was able to piece together the history of Hull #212.

October 1979
Hull#212, a 1980 model Pearson 323 was delivered to Fred McGinnis in Washington, who christened her "Olympus". At the time it was equipped with a Volvo Penta engine.

October 22, 1984
Olympus was surveyed, and sold to Douglas Hernandes in Seattle. The sloop was renamed "Legacy".

June 1989
Purchased by Steven Roswold in Seattle, who renamed the sloop to "Huff'n Puff'n" - which I must say is my least preferred name!

June 1993
Weldon Manning of Seattle bought the boat for $38,500, renaming her "Endorphin".

Sept 2000
Bill Stringfellow purchased the Endorphin, and shipped it from Washington to California (for $2000!). At the time if sale, the boat was valued at $33,500 - keeping her value remarkably well.

Bill invested a great deal into Endorphin, notably replacing the aging (and leaking) Volvo with a new Westerbeke engine in 2005, installing an autopilot, and buying a new main/jib.

2010
I purchased the boat from Bill. After appropriate libations I renamed her "Selene" after the Greek goddess of the moon, and moved her down from Alameda to Redwood city, And so the adventure began!
